We’re currently hiring an Manager / Senior Manager, Data Management to join our team in Federal Research Operations!

 

As Manager / Senior Manager, Data Management, you’ll have the opportunity to oversee and manage the clinical data management staff and studies to ensure timely deliverables of the highest quality, facilitate shared learning and knowledge retention, and provide solutions to resolve problems while improving efficiency within the team. It also includes overseeing staff performance management, talent development, and ensures all are trained and compliant with current SOPs, operational guidance and mentoring developing staff. In addition to these management responsibilities, you will also oversee studies - attend client meetings, provide strategic project planning, and allocate study resourcing as well as engaging in departmental and cross functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Management responsibilities for data management technical staff – database builders, programmers and coders
    • Meet regularly with employees to provide mentorship and discuss development and performance
    • Maintain retrospective and prospective vigilance of utilization, realization, availability to take on additional work and paid time off
    • Provide mentorship in all aspects of data management
    • Collaborate with the Organizational Development team to manage, plan, create, and present learning and training opportunities for current and future data management staff; ensure staff compliance with assigned trainings
    • Provide data management training by implementing effective orientation, mentoring, and career development opportunities
    • Ensure staff fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with policies, procedures, SOPs, ICH-GCPs, and country specific regulatory requirements
  • Management responsibilities for studies
    • Assess staff resources, projections and activities to ensure that project teams meet client expectations and contractual obligations with high quality
    • Serve as escalation point and technical expert for clients as needed
    • Participate in business development strategies and opportunities
    • Oversee study finances
  • Management of the Data Management department
    • Report regularly on staffing development progress, projections, gaps and potential needs, highlighting key areas of accomplishments, metrics and risks
    • Collaborate with project teams and functional area SMEs across the business, to ensure customer satisfaction, high quality deliverables, and profitability of studies
    • Contribute to data management through participation in special assignments, process assessments and development of project aids such as standards, templates, guidance, etc.
    • Work with others, design cross-functional process efficiencies and develop new approaches to data management
    • Stay current on data management and industry trends and how these may impact development and data management approaches
    • Participate in quality efforts for continuous improvement by assuring quality metrics are in line with company, client and data management objectives
    • Perform other duties per the guidance of manager and/or other leadership
    • Identify efficiencies and trends across studies.  Ensure shared learning and knowledge retention within department
    • Provide advice and solutions to solve problems and improve efficiency across functions, projects and customers.
    • Participate in defining strategies for new processes and technology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree along with at least 10 years of data management experience, which includes 3+ years managing staff
  • SME in Data Management and strong understanding of project staffing and typical data management team structures
  • Solid understanding of staff and study management, as well as the drug development process
  • Clear ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
  • Strong Communicator: Demonstrate written, verbal and presentation skills to help showcase the successes of your work and Rho’s.

As required by pay transparency laws in some states, Rho provides the range of starting compensation (annual salary or hourly rate) it reasonably expects to pay for a given role. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to role responsibilities and location as well as candidate skill set and level of experience. The range of starting pay for this role is $150,000 to $170,000 per year.
