We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join the finance team as an Assistant Global Controller, who will play a crucial role in supporting the Global Controller in overseeing the financial operations of the company on a global scale. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, managing compliance with international accounting standards, and driving financial process improvements across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of global financial regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation of accurate and timely global financial statements in accordance with USGAAP, IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Oversee Global month-end close process ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled and consolidated and in a timely fashion.
  • Manage Floqast, our accounting platform for task management and reconciliations, for timely identification of any discrepancies
  • Oversee key reconciliations including inter-company and wages control accounts.
  • Supports the group Transfer Pricing policy, managing the intercompany cost allocation and chargeback process.
  • Provide support to the FP&A team for the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, including actual to budget variance analysis as required.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and accounting and regulatory policies and procedures, considering Rho’s risk management and mitigation requirements.
  • Assist in managing external audits and liaising with auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion of audits.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to financial processes and systems, ensuring smooth integration of new initiatives and optimal financial system implementation and controls, to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and support to finance teams across international locations.
  • Assist in the development and training of finance staff to ensure high performance and adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with regional finance teams to ensure alignment with global financial strategies and objectives.
  • Support the Global Controller in developing and executing financial strategies and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Professionally qualified accountant (CPA or ACA/ACCA/CIMA or non-UK equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years qualified experience
  • Experience of working in the finance function of an international company with multi-country and multi-currency operations including transfer pricing
  • Experience of working in a regulated CRO environment and associated regulatory reporting requirements an advantage
  • Experience working with NetSuite, Concur and Floqast an advantage
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, able to prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to think critically and strategically and to propose and implement change
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams
  • Proactive individual, capable of working with minimal supervision under their own initiative, find solutions to business challenges and ‘hands-on’ approach where necessary
  • Excellent user knowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
